Welcome To The NASCAR Edge

I will keep everything updated as much as possible and hope this will be the place you come everyday for your NASCAR news/stats/schedules/standings/ect.

The 2010 season is almost here, it won't be long and the racing will take over the country again from East Coast To West Coast, even out of the country from Mexico to Canada.

2009 was a historic season as everyone watched Jimmie Johnson & the #48 Lowes team win their 4th consecutive championship, a record in NASCAR.

Kyle Busch captured his 1st major title by winning the Nationwide Championship and Ron Hornaday dominated on his way to another Truck Series title.

There is a lot to look forward to in 2010, some new teams, some new faces in different places. How will Truex fair at Michael Waltrip Racing? Will Roush Fenway Racing get back to its normal form as they are now down to 4 teams? Will the Hendrick Motorsports dominance continue another year or will someone from Gibbs or Stewart-Haas step up to take a title. Danica Patrick will be the biggest story of 2010 to watch, her start in the Nationwide Series coming in February. Will Kurt Busch and new crew chief Steve Addington do well together? Jamie McMurray returns to Ganassi after a few years with Roush Racing. Mark Martin will try to have another great season, hoping to not come up short again. There is so much going on this year and it begins in February at Daytona.

The first event of the 2010 NASCAR season will be the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona on February 6th, 2010, approx start is 8:10pm.

Last year the shootout field was changed to the best teams from each make and past champions. This year they decided to change it again mostly because Dodge only has 3 teams in the Cup Series in 2010.

First of all only drivers who have raced in the Sprint Cup in the last 2 years can be in the field.

The Field Will Consist Of:
  • 12 CHASE Drivers from 2009
  • Past Sprint Cup Champions
  • Past Budweiser Shootout Winners
  • Past Winners of Either The Daytona 500 or the Coke Zero 400
  • The 2009 Rookie Of The Year

Kevin Harvick is the defending Budweiser Shootout Winner
